About Us – 5 Years of Emi & Koa
Emi & Koa was founded in 2021 by Karishma and Nisha — two mums from North West London with backgrounds in Marketing and Fashion Design, and a shared passion for thoughtful, modern design.
Now proudly celebrating 5 years in business, what began as an idea during maternity leave has grown into a trusted brand known for creating modern, minimalist Rakhris and personalised gifts that honour tradition in a fresh, wearable way.
It all began with a simple complaint from Karishma’s brothers — that traditional Rakhis were uncomfortable and overly decorative. That sparked our mission to reimagine the Rakhi: something refined, wearable and colourfast, made from premium 100% Egyptian Cotton. The result? Rakhris you’ll want to wear beyond Raksha Bandhan.
